Question by francesann_0710: Will someone please tell me what is going on?
The day before my fiance’s probation appointment, we were pulled over in front of our home, put in handcuffs while they searched the vehicle, and then he was taken to jail for a motion to revoke. We were never given a reason for even being pulled over or searched. Is that legal?

He wants me to call his probation officer and tell her how he has changed, he’s employed now, etc. Im trying to find the phone number so his boss can call also. Is this appropriate or should he just wait and speak with the officer himself? And is there a website/directory for Texas probation officers?

He has a ,000 bond set but since its in another county (he had a transfer), its either too expensive or bondsman wont do it. I was told that his court date would probably be set in about a month or so. Can a court appointed attorney speed up the process or do I need to hire one?

I’ve never been on probation so I dont know what to expect. We are guessing his probation was revoked because he is behind on payments? Can I make payments for him?

I dont know what to do since I am limited on funds. I’ve been searching for answers online for three days now. PLEASE, somebody tell me something (positive) :-) Your help is greatly appreciated.

They do not have to tell why you were pulled over! I suspect that the probation officer was going to arrest him at the appointment. All good parole and probation officers have the number to the fugitive, gang, or street criminal squads, passing on fresh warrants. They will gladly take your money for the fee’s, but it won’t change anything, should have been helping him from the beginning! He has not changed, you hope that he has, but he is still not taking care of his responsibilities, and until he does that he will continue to be him! Bondsmen will usually bail out anyone if you can put up the 10%, so there must be something missing to the story, especially since the bond is awfully high for probation revocation. A private lawyer is great, if you can afford to get a real one, if not he stands a better chance at getting a better court appointed lawyer, but either way it still takes about a month for the hearing! Move on young lady!!!!
